Sewage treatment is to remove the toxic and harmful substances, suspended solids, silt, bacteria, viruses, ill-smelling, pigment and other pollutants from water. Traditional sewage treatment method has the following disadvantages: large area, high-investment, fast electric consumption, low efficiency, high cost and secondary pollution. The sewage treatment have been unable to get satisfactory solution. However, the development and application of nano-technology have solved this problem.
Nano-technology has shown great power in the degradation of nitrogen and oxygen species and the organics in sewage treatment. It can’t be substituted by the traditional technologies. Nano titanium dioxide for sewage treatment is not only residue-free, wide sterilization, corrosion-free, non-stimulating, non-toxic and not affected by organics, hard and soft water, PH, temperature and so on, but also the long-term.
Nano titanium dioxide photocatalyst has the following advantages:
